meet the coaches
Hi, I’m Alex! I am the head coach at Dreamtown CrossFit. I was born and raised in Truckee. Spent my younger years as a multi-sport athlete playing tennis, ski racing, baseball, soccer, and swimming. I eventually had to narrow it down to one sport and became a swimmer. I swam competitively all through high school and eventually earned a scholarship to swim for the University of Hawaii.
After my time as a swimmer, I suffered a skiing accident that I thought would have debilitated me for life. I chose the latter and needed to find something that could break that idea. I found CrossFit in Hawaii and when I began could barely do an air squat. CrossFit got me on the path to moving again. I immediately became immersed in the culture and community and CrossFit became a passion.
I have been coaching CrossFit for over a year and a half now and currently have my CFL1.
During my free time, I love to do all things outdoors. Outside of the gym, I am always mountain biking, surfing, swimming, skiing.. the list goes on.
Overall CrossFit and coaching have given me the opportunity to become a better athlete, friend, neighbor, and human being

Hey Guys and Gals, I’m Kenzie! I’ve been lucky enough to call Truckee home for the past 2 years, and even luckier to have found my community here at Dreamtown CrossFit. I’m an out and proud lesbian livin’ the dream with my pup, Tuli, and pursuing my career as an architect designing beautiful single-family mountain homes.
My fitness career all began in good ol’ Carson City, Nevada—just down the hill from Truckee. I dabbled in nearly every sport before landing on soccer. I played goalkeeper at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and upon graduation, found my new sport in CrossFit and haven’t looked back!
At the gym, I’m known as the 'young buck' (I am 24 years old) and ‘the one with the engine’. I thrive on long, strenuous workouts, and find my stride during running and lower body-centric workouts. You can find me at Dreamtown almost every day of the week, because here, I’m surrounded by a community of people who push me to be my best self every single day. The gym is a community of folks who are pursuing betterment for themselves, and everyone around them, every day. That’s what makes Dreamtown unique. In this gym, there are no egos, everyone is welcome, we push one another, and you’ll finish each workout a better version of yourself.

Hi I'm Jess! I am a coach at Dreamtown CrossFit. I’ve lived here in the Tahoe/Truckee area for going on 14 years, but I'm originally from Baltimore, MD. I moved to Truckee after college and never looked back.
I’ve been coaching CrossFit for 3 years. I have my CFL1. I'm also a Specialist in Fitness Nutrition and Youth Nutrition Specialist.
I was an athlete my entire life and when I moved to Truckee I was looking to fulfill my competitive spirit. I spent a few years doing marathons but after having my daughter I didn't have time to go run for 3-4 hours a day. I was encouraged to try out CrossFit. After day one, I was hooked! I now train at a competitive level and love to compete in CrossFit.
Outside of the gym, I love spending time with my daughter, dogs, and boyfriend. Summer is my favorite and I try to be outside as much as possible. I enjoy cooking and I'm a foodie at heart.
I, unfortunately, was given poor nutrition guidance as a young athlete so my goal is to help guide our young athletes when it comes to proper health and wellness. I do one-one coaching with adults looking to enhance performance or change body composition as well. You can generally find me at Dreamtown training or hanging out with friends. I wouldn't change it for the world!

Hi there! My name is Jason. I am the owner of Dreamtown CrossFit. I’ve lived here in the Tahoe/Truckee area for most of my life. My parents moved here in 1973 when I was 2. Growing up my favorite sport was Baseball.
I’ve been coaching CrossFit for 7 years. I have my CFL1, CFL2, Kids cert, and Olympic lifting cert.
My CrossFit journey started in 2011 at 40 years old. An unhealthy lifestyle was catching up to me quickly. At 280 lbs, high blood pressure and losing my breath after walking up a flight of stairs, I knew I had to do something. My first day included OHS and I couldn’t squat the Barbell. After that embarrassing first day, I had no interest in ever coming back until my wife talked me into giving it 30-days. I quickly realized that my own ego was getting in my way of success. I knew it was going to be challenging, but I needed to get started and not look back. I’ve been hooked since!
I love to snowmobile, camp with my family, off-road racing, biking with my son (his passion), and of course CrossFit. Most importantly, I try my best to be a loving husband, guiding Father and loyal friend. My passion for coaching comes from my love for being around amazing people.
I am a better person on a daily basis because of the people I am surrounded by within the 4 walls of Dreamtown CrossFit. I have a dream job!
